As a General Merchandise Expert, you will be responsible for creating an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience. Your main priorities will be to ensure that products are available and easy to shop, replenish stock, price and sign merchandise, and maintain the sales floor and backroom.

Responsibilities:

- Create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience

- Greet guests, help them find what they need, and resolve issues to ensure a smooth shopping experience

- End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you

- Actively support team efforts and assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude

- Execute daily tasks assigned by your leader to help achieve goals that align with business priorities

- Operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures if certified

- Learn and execute operational procedures, such as setting and organising merchandise, managing product accuracy and stock levels, and maintaining sales floor areas

- Follow all Target policies and safety procedures, adhere to role-specific guidelines, and help maintain a safe, compliant workplace

- Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfilment processes

Requirements:

- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members

- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed

- Work both independently and with a team

- Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot

- Attention to detail and follow multi-step processes

- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes

- Accurately handle cash register operations as needed

- Climb up and down ladders

- Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance from others

- Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, and holidays)

- Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties

- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift
