## Description

As a Public Policy Lead, you will support Discord's work by building trust and finding common ground with policymakers, regulators, and other stakeholders with a focus on the U.S. States. You will introduce Discord to policymakers and other stakeholders, educate decision-makers on our mission, products, and investments in privacy and safety, and advocate for Discord's position on key legislative and regulatory initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

- Introducing Discord to policymakers and other stakeholders

- Educating decision-makers on our mission, products, and investments in privacy and safety

- Advocating for Discord's position on key legislative and regulatory initiatives

- Engaging in public policy coalitions with peer companies and civil society organizations

- Monitoring and analyzing policy developments in the U.S. States

- Developing public policy materials such as position papers, talking points, presentations, and consultation responses

Requirements include:

- 5+ years of experience in government, public policy advocacy, and/or government relations

- Deep insight on the policymaking process in the U.S. States

- Ability to execute a multi-year strategic advocacy and public affairs program

- Work experience on technology policy initiatives such as online safety, privacy, or content moderation

- Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, compelling narratives for non-technical audiences

- Success building trust and consensus across stakeholders with different perspectives and priorities

- Willingness to travel as necessary within the U.S.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000 to $175,500 + equity + benefits.
