## Description

We are seeking a creative, innovative, and enterprising Anchor for WBIR-TV Knoxville, a TEGNA NBC affiliate. The ideal candidate is an excellent on-camera communicator who excels at accountability reporting and breaking news. They should be able to work with producers to develop engaging newscasts, understand the 'why' behind stories, and excel at impact journalism.

Responsibilities:

- Use editorial judgment to determine newscast content

- Collaborate with producers and teams to create innovative newscasts

- Utilize social media to identify content and highlight significant stories

- Write and post daily on all digital platforms, including social media

- Develop story ideas, write, shoot, and edit news stories for on-air broadcasting

- Create original content through social listening and independent sources

- Perform tasks as required by supervisors or executive producers

Requirements:

- Minimum 5-7 years of news anchor/reporting experience

- Ability to develop story ideas, write, shoot, and edit news stories for television, mobile, and social platforms

- Excellent presentation and writing skills

- Understanding of professional journalism tenets

- Experience with the latest editing and photography tools

- Ability to deliver on-air news events in an engaging and accurate manner
