## Description

We are looking for underwriters to join our accounts team, handling risks worth $50,000 and above. Your role will involve evaluating, analysing, and applying effective pricing for complex property and liability insurance risks for businesses. You will work directly with brokers, manage your own renewal portfolio, identify new business opportunities, and utilise your technical expertise.

**Responsibilities:**

- Analyse and select business by determining client needs and risk characteristics

- Collaborate with the engineering department to identify key trends and recommendations

- Conduct technical reviews of complex accounts and track pending recommendations

- Build and maintain relationships with other departments and external stakeholders

- Ensure the quality and profitability of the business insurance portfolio

- Transfer risks exceeding delegated authority to headquarters

- Identify potential issues with loss ratios and risk trends

- Learn and master IT systems and programs used in business insurance

- Participate in quality controls and audits

- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, developments, and regulatory changes

**Requirements:**

- 5 years of experience in business insurance production

- PAA or FPAA titles obtained or in progress

- Strong knowledge of risk analysis, pricing, and products in key segments (Construction, Manufacturing, Wholesale, Retail)

- In-depth understanding of risk selection principles, insurance contracts, pricing programs, and risk information sources

- Functional knowledge of other areas (claims, risk management, accounting, etc.)

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office

- Ability to interact professionally with brokers and clients

- Capacity to collaborate with internal partners to ensure excellent broker and client experience

- Self-motivation and positive leadership skills

- Ability to listen to broker and client needs and respond effectively

- Fluency in French (written and spoken)

- Team spirit and willingness to act as a mentor

- Hybrid work arrangement (initially remote, then 2 days/week in office)
