## Description

We are looking for a Senior Environment Artist to collaborate with the senior art director and play a key role in creating the visual language, world identity, and material style for new game projects.

As a Senior Environment Artist at Electronic Arts, you will work on creating high-quality, real-time environments, architectural elements, objects, and modular sets for playable demos, prototypes, and representative samples.

Responsibilities:

- Create high-quality, real-time environments, architectural elements, objects, and modular sets for playable demos, prototypes, and representative samples.

- Establish environmental artistic quality and production standards, providing guidance, feedback, and artistic direction.

- Collaborate closely with the artistic direction to define the project's visual language, materials, scale, colours, composition, and overall world identity.

- Design modular environmental content that can be reused, adapted, and developed as the game and project evolve.

- Work together with technical art and engineering staff on procedural, scalable, and efficient environmental workflows for real-time production.

- Ensure that play spaces support composition, texturing, lighting, readability, navigation, and game clarity while remaining in harmony with the established visual direction.

- Lead environmental evaluations for internal and external production, contributing to maintaining quality, guiding priorities, and supporting the team's future growth.

Requirements:

- Demonstrated expertise in AAA video game development with at least 8 years of professional experience covering commercialised works for console or computer and environmental artistic resources.

- A solid portfolio showcasing high-quality, real-time environments, architectural elements, objects, world-building modules, and visual storytelling examples.

- Experience in mentoring artists, leading artistic evaluations, and defining artistic direction; ideally managing or directing small internal or external artistic teams.

- In-depth understanding of modelling, UV mapping, texturing, materials, optimisation, modular construction, and real-time environmental production.

- Highly developed artistic sense regarding composition, scale, colours, lighting, shape language, materials, and game readability.

- Extensive experience with modern environmental tools and pipelines such as Maya, Blender, Substance 3D, Houdini, ZBrush, Unreal, Unity, Frostbite, or comparable engines and tools.

- Ideally, experience in adapting environmental artistic resources to different game types, visual styles, needs, procedural workflows, user-generated content (UGC) systems, or AI-assisted content processing pipelines.

Benefits:

- Competitive salary: $114,300 - $156,200 CAD (British Columbia) or $127,700 - $190,600 USD (California)

- Comprehensive benefits packages including paid time off, sick time, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and retirement plans
