## Description

GitLab is seeking a Staff Infrastructure Security Engineer to work on the Infrastructure Security Team within the Product Security Department. The successful candidate will work remotely in the United States and be responsible for ensuring the components that comprise GitLab's public cloud infrastructure are built with resiliency and security.

**Job Overview** As a Staff Security Engineer, you will serve as the technical lead for the infrastructure security of GitLab's Dedicated for Government offering and the broader FedRAMP environment. You will define the technical direction for securing the Federal platform, set patterns for the team, and influence how those patterns extend into other SaaS platforms and Self-Managed offerings.

**Key Responsibilities**

- Set technical direction, architectural patterns, and security automation for GitLab's FedRAMP environment

- Own the security posture of GitLab's FedRAMP environment as the senior technical voice

- Lead infrastructure security initiatives from problem framing through delivery

- Conduct comprehensive security reviews and threat modeling for complex infrastructure components

- Set the team's approach to AI-assisted security engineering within the FedRAMP-authorized environment

- Serve as an authoritative technical voice for Federal Infrastructure Security across stakeholders

- Partner on technical planning, prioritization, and roadmap development

- Mentor and develop engineers on the team

**Requirements**

- Proof of U.S. citizenship and U.S. residency

- Expert knowledge of security for cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, and related topics

- Deep working knowledge of FedRAMP and operational realities of running an authorized environment

- Proficiency in multiple programming languages (Go, Python, Ruby)

- Extensive experience with Infrastructure-as-Code security, policy-as-code, and automated compliance

- Hands-on experience applying AI to security workflows

- Track record of leading multi-team technical initiatives

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
