## Description

Samsara is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to partner with its R&D organization. The successful candidate will drive quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify cost optimization opportunities, build reporting and attribution frameworks, and support month-end close procedures.

Responsibilities:

- Partner with engineering leaders to manage headcount, software, and AI vendor spend.

- Analyze financial results and prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting.

- Support financial review meetings with R&D and Finance leadership.

- Partner with Accounting on month-end close activities, cost classification, and reporting requests.

- Collaborate with R&D teams to drive AOP planning.

- Improve the accuracy and scalability of existing financial reporting and forecasting models.

- Develop new mechanisms, analysis, or KPIs to inspect business performance.

- Leverage AI tools to streamline financial reporting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis workflows.

Requirements:

- 3+ years of experience in FP&A/Strategic Finance/Big 4 Accounting/Investment Banking.

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

- High aptitude for complex problem-solving using financial modeling and analysis.

- Experience at a high-growth tech company.

- Strong communication and presentation skills.

Nice to Have:

- Familiarity with Headcount & SaaS cost modeling and management.

- Proficiency with AI tools, Databricks, and FP&A tools such as Workday Adaptive Planning.

- Prior partnership with software engineering teams.

Compensation:

- Annual Base Salary: $83,300-$140,000 USD
