## Job Summary

The Ocean Operations Associate role at Flexport is critical to making global trade easy for everyone. You will work directly with partners within your region, including account management and customs teams, subcontractors, carriers, terminals, and trucking providers.

## Responsibilities

- Execute booking and documentation processes with clients and carriers

- Troubleshoot and escalate shipment exceptions in a timely manner

- Collaborate with Flexport's Account Management and Planning teams to ensure effective end-to-end export processes

- Coach junior specialists on daily tasks

- Plan and execute special freight operations, such as DG and reefer

- Assist Senior Associates with new business/process implementation, new projects, and new tasks

- Provide expertise to internal and external clients to help them make informed decisions

- Uphold high operational quality and service standards, guided by company values

- Identify business process and software capability needs to scale the growing team while improving quality, service, efficiency, and regulatory compliance

- Contribute to developing and implementing procedures and systems to differentiate Flexport's operations from the industry

## Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field

- At least 2 years of experience in ocean operations or related roles in freight forwarding/logistics

- Strong written and spoken English skills; Chinese language skills are a plus

- Detail-oriented, structured, and eager to learn about global supply chain operations

- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to providing excellent customer service
