## Description

ACCEL Schools is seeking highly qualified Intervention Specialists at Columbus Bilingual West in Columbus, Ohio. The Intervention Specialist supports the educational and behavioral goals of all students, with a focus on students with an Individualized Education Program.

Responsibilities include:

- Working cooperatively with classroom teachers to interpret student abilities and disabilities

- Assisting in classroom intervention strategies and modifying general education curriculum as necessary

- Conducting diagnostic assessments and functional behavior assessments

- Writing and implementing behavior improvement plans

- Facilitating IEP Meetings and writing IEP goals and objectives

- Relentlessly working to meet goals related to student achievement and culture

- Utilizing research-based best practices in daily planning and instruction

- Integrating culturally responsive teaching practices into daily lessons and interactions

- Serving as an advisor for a designated set of students

- Communicating regularly with families regarding student growth

Requirements:

- Current state license

- Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards

- Experience working in a full room inclusion type model or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model

- High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment

- High quality written and verbal communication skills

- High proficiency in Microsoft Office products

- Excellent organization and time management skills

- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team

- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks

- Experience working in a multi-cultural setting preferred
