## Description

The Production Operator role at 3M in Springfield, MO involves producing and assembling products in the plant. Key responsibilities include operating and maintaining machinery, ensuring production standards are met, finalizing products, and preparing them for shipping.

As a Production Operator, you will:

- Observe all safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe work area

- Apply quality instructions and specifications

- Monitor the production or packing operation to ensure quality objectives are met

- Load and unload material into and from equipment

- Work as a team member through sharing information, problem-solving, and assisting others

- Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures

- Follow process standards to ensure quality product is produced

- Perform data entry and record required tests and adjust processes as necessary to meet quality specifications

- Maintain excellent housekeeping

- Handle hazardous waste material in accordance with federal and state regulations

Requirements:

- 18 years of age or older

- High School Diploma/GED or higher

- 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing, production, industrial, or plant operations environment

- Ability to work a 2nd or 3rd shift, or a 12-hour night/rotating shift

- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required

Desired qualifications:

- Post-high school education

- Experience with control charting, material handling, packaging, chemical manufacturing, and hazardous waste management

- Experience working with computers in a manufacturing setting

- Attention to detail, prioritization, self-motivation, teamwork, problem-solving, analytical thinking, effective communication skills, strong work ethic, initiative, and a focus on safety

The starting rate of pay for this position is $20.39/hr, with the potential to reach $27.40/hr.
