## Description

WSP is seeking a Generation Electrical Engineering Area Lead to join their Power & Energy team in Houston, TX. The successful candidate will oversee the Generation Electrical staff in the Houston office, manage a team of engineers, and act as a lead or project engineer for projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and support electrical engineers and designers on power generation projects and power plant electrical system upgrades

- Manage project proposals and budgets

- Oversee daily activities of a team of engineers, including personnel reviews and goal development

- Coordinate and review electrical infrastructure design plans for smaller projects

- Lead cross-functional teams for mid-level and multiple concurrent projects

- Ensure responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources

Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering

- 12+ years of relevant post-education experience in electrical engineering for power generation projects

- Engineer license required (multi-state preferred)

- Experience in power generation projects, detailed design engineering, and relay coordination

- Experience managing a project team or department

- Excellent leadership and communication skills

- Proficiency in CAD, Microsoft Office, and ETAP or SKM software

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's Degree in Engineering

- Owner's engineering experience in generating facilities

- Previous experience leading a group of engineers
