## Description

We are seeking a Technical Director - Civil Engineering (Development) to join our team in Edinburgh or Glasgow. As a senior leader, you will play a key role in driving business growth, providing technical leadership, and delivering high-profile projects.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with experience in client-facing activities, technical leadership, and business development. You will be responsible for:

- Providing strategic direction and leadership to the Development team

- Engaging with clients and stakeholders to drive business growth and deliver projects

- Leading and mentoring colleagues to achieve technical excellence and career development

- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver multi-disciplinary projects

- Developing and implementing business strategies to achieve growth and innovation

The Development team is a well-established and high-performing discipline within WSP, with over 300 consultants and engineers across the UK. We work with a range of clients, including public and private sector land promoters, house builders, developers, and government agencies.

To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate:

- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in leading teams and driving business growth

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with clients and stakeholders at all levels

- A strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices, with experience in delivering complex projects

- Ability to think strategically and drive innovation and change

- Chartered status or working towards chartership

- Degree level qualification in civil engineering
