## Description

Samsara Security is seeking a Senior Threat Detection Engineer to build and operate signals, pipelines, and tooling for threat discovery. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in security engineering or a related field, strong Python and SQL skills, and experience with detection-as-code platforms and modern SIEM platforms.

Responsibilities:

- Build, deploy, and improve MITRE ATT&CK–aligned detections across various telemetry sources

- Own the full detection lifecycle from hypothesis to deployment and retirement

- Advance the detection-as-code platform through version control, peer review, and automated testing

- Identify emerging threat surfaces and build integrations for stronger data ingestion and coverage

- Evaluate AI-powered security capabilities and turn threat intelligence into actionable detection

- Partner with Security Operations during investigations and incidents

Requirements:

- 6+ years in security engineering, detection engineering, or a related technology discipline

- Strong Python and SQL skills

- Experience with detection-as-code, Git-based workflows, and CI/CD deployment

- Deep experience with modern SIEM platforms and AWS, Linux, containers, and EDR

- Proven ability to build systems from scratch and communicate technical concepts clearly

Nice to Have:

- Experience with data orchestration platforms like Airflow or Databricks

- Applied experience with LLMs, agentic frameworks, and MCP integrations

- Familiarity with risk-based alerting, ChatOps, and attack simulation

- Additional experience with Go, Terraform, malware analysis, digital forensics, or FedRAMP environments
