## Description

KGW-TV Portland is seeking a creative, driven, and curious news reporter who can shoot and edit their own stories. As a multi-skilled journalist, you will be a key part of our newsroom's coverage on both broadcast and digital platforms.

The ideal candidate will pitch smart stories and tell them in a way that is both creative and engaging. Most stories will be same-day turns, while other times you'll be given more time to execute your vision. You can expect to work solo many days, although there are ample opportunities to work with a photographer, especially on breaking news or complex stories.

Responsibilities:

- Report, write, shoot, and edit news stories for broadcast and digital platforms

- Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media to enhance stories

- Consistently pitch strong story ideas

- Maintain the highest journalistic standards in every story you cover

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field

- Strong understanding of journalism ethics and best practices with a minimum of three years of experience in broadcast journalism or a related field

- Experience with shooting video, video editing, and web content management systems

- Ability to generate creative, engaging, content-driven live shots

- Strong social media skills and presence

- Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events

- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

- Knowledge of ENPS, Edius, Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop a plus
