## Description

SEEK is looking for a Staff Engineer to join their team in Cremorne, Victoria, Australia. The successful candidate will design and build fit-for-purpose products, platforms and services; strengthen system health; and help create the engineering practices that allow people and AI-enabled tools to deliver safely and effectively.

The team, Ad Products & Add-Ons, helps hirers choose and use products that improve customer experience, value and sustainable business growth. The Staff Engineer will work across a broad engineering and product community, including software engineers, staff and senior staff engineers, engineering managers, product managers, designers, data engineers, business analysts, architects, security, AI, platform and other engineering teams.

Key responsibilities include:

- Owning the technical direction, architecture and evolution of the team's services, systems and platforms

- Setting and maintaining a pragmatic roadmap balancing customer value, reliability, security, resilience, observability, cost, performance and technical debt

- Leading design, development, testing, deployment and operation of scalable software and APIs

- Acting as a technical escalation point for complex production issues

- Improving developer experience and delivery flow through strong CI/CD, testing, observability, documentation and operational practices

- Using endorsed AI coding tools responsibly across the delivery lifecycle

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, building and operating production software systems, APIs or platforms in cloud environments; a track record of staff-level technical leadership; and strong architectural judgement across secure coding, CI/CD, testing, observability, incident response, resilience, performance and cost.
