## Description

We are seeking a Firefighter/Paramedic Lateral to join our team at Provo Fire & Rescue. The successful candidate will be part of a cohesive and positive work environment with a strong desire to help each other succeed.

**Job Details** The compensation package for this role includes a lateral transfer hiring range of $69,077-$112,854, with an annual range provided as a courtesy. Pay is hourly and paid in bi-weekly installments.

**Main Duties** As a Firefighter/Paramedic, you will:

- Respond to emergency and fire scenes

- Provide medical aid

- Participate in fire suppression activities and hazardous materials operations

- Operate equipment and vehicles such as pumps, nozzles, ladders, hydrants, extinguishers, generators, etc.

- Search for and rescue victims from buildings, autos, mountains, etc.

- Participate in post-emergency salvage operations and cleanup

- Assist in pre-fire planning and development of property maps and sketches

- Clean and maintain firefighting equipment, station, and grounds

- Participate in drills and training sessions

- Assist in educating the public and perform other related duties as required

**Requirements** To apply, you will need:

- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED)

- A current Paramedic License through the Utah State Bureau of EMS standards and have been employed in that capacity within the last 6 months

- Firefighter I & II certifications (NFPA and Utah Fire and Rescue Academy standards)

- A valid, lawful Utah State driver's license

**Lateral Transfers** Lateral transfers may be brought in at the Firefighter/Paramedic, Senior Firefighter/Paramedic, or Master Firefighter/Paramedic level depending on qualifications.
