## Description

We are seeking a Principal Financial Analyst to join our Card Operations team within the Customer Service and Strategy Organisation. You will play a critical role in consolidating financial results across Card Servicing towers, reporting and communicating results to key business stakeholders, analysing performance and efficiency metrics, and identifying trends.

Key responsibilities include:

- Analysing financial results, identifying drivers and impact, and providing recommendations to Card Operations business leaders

- Building new, sustainable, and efficient processes as we continue to integrate legacy Discover and legacy Capital One Financial data and associates through automation and leveraging AI

- Providing financial leadership to the team and business partners by leveraging financial insights to influence actions and results

- Communicating analytic insights through clear, high-impact, executive-ready presentations

- Building relationships across the organisation

General responsibilities include:

- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and analysis

- Leading development of presentations to communicate analysis results to senior audiences

- Accurately analysing and explaining key cost drivers and monthly variances

- Proactively identifying and leading new analysis that drives additional insights into business performance and opportunities

- Partnering with finance leaders and their teams, as well as other internal stakeholders

The successful candidate will have:

- A Bachelor's degree or military experience

- At least 3 years of experience in financial analysis, financial modelling, or a combination

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred qualifications include:

- A Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master's degree in Finance

- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license

- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis and financial modelling

- 3+ years of experience in financial services, banking, or technology industries

In terms of salary, Capital One is offering a range of $120,800 - $137,900 for Principal Financial Analyst in McLean, VA, and $109,900 - $125,400 in Richmond, VA. The role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
