## Description

We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our team in New Zealand. You will be based in either Auckland or Wellington and will contribute to WSP's success by providing timely, commercial, and robust legal advice.

The Role:

- Support our bid and project delivery teams in reviewing and negotiating engineering services contracts, subcontracts, joint venture, alliance agreements, and related commercial agreements.

- Proactively manage risk, drive regulatory compliance (health & safety, competition law), and ensure adherence to internal governance policies and procedures.

- Advise our project delivery teams on contractual issues during project delivery.

- Advise on WSP's insurance program and manage claims together with our insurers.

- Develop and implement internal training and education programs.

About you:

- 7+ years' post-qualification experience with experience advising the construction/infrastructure or engineering industry, IT, and professional services.

- A degree in Law and eligibility to hold a Practising Certificate with the New Zealand Law Society.

- In-house legal experience in Engineering or Construction.

- Extensive experience reviewing and negotiating engineering services or construction contracts, subcontracts, joint venture, alliance agreements, and related commercial agreements.

- Broad general knowledge of New Zealand's legislative and regulatory framework, including Health & Safety, litigation, competition law, IP, general corporate, and privacy law.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex information and legal advice clearly to a variety of audiences.
