## Description

Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join their team on a bank shift basis. The successful candidate will work on an 'as and when required' basis to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

The role involves:

- Assisting patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs

- Helping patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support

- Providing comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives

- Carrying out routine observations such as blood pressure and pulse

- Supporting basic clinical procedures, including wound care setup and mobility aids

- Preparing and maintaining clinical areas

- Working collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapists, and admin teams

Applicants should have:

- Previous experience in a care or health support role

- Good communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns

- Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills

- Physical ability to undertake duties, including moving and handling tasks

- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) desirable

- Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures

The salary is £12.71 per hour.
