## Description

Join MongoDB's Search Systems Engineering team, building next-generation database infrastructure at scale. As a Senior Product Manager, you'll work with talented engineers to architect distributed systems for highly performant search and AI applications. You'll serve as a strategic partner and technical translator, anticipating market needs 18-24 months ahead of current development cycles.

**Role Responsibilities:**

- Contribute to the future of search infrastructure, driving the long-term technical vision for MongoDB Search

- Champion the customer and innovation, acting as the voice of customers building mission-critical AI applications

- Drive engineering strategy and impact, partnering with engineering leadership to translate complex technical tradeoffs into business value

- Orchestrate world-class observability, collaborating with SRE and Solutions Architects to build advanced instrumentation strategies

**Requirements:**

- 5+ years of PM experience with a focus on infrastructure or distributed systems

- Deep technical authority, mastery of concepts like CAP theorem, consistency models, and sharding strategies

- Strategic vision at the technical edge, operating comfortably at the intersection of complex architecture and business strategy

- Unrivaled influence, earning the trust of senior engineers through technical depth and respect for complexity

- Visionary customer obsession, designing deeply technical products with long-term success criteria in mind

**Nice to Have:**

- Direct experience with search technologies (Elasticsearch, Solr, Lucene) or vector databases

- Experience with AI/ML infrastructure or building platform capabilities that enable AI applications

**Success Measures:**

- Month 3: Technical immersion, state of reliability, and quick win

- Month 6: Operationalize SLOs, conviction paper, and observability upgrade

- Month 12: Quantifiable health gains, tier-1 launch, and establishing authority on search scaling
