## Description

WSP is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (Renewables) to join their Power & Energy team in Cottonwood Heights, UT, with consideration for other locations including Boise, ID, Billings, MT, Houston, TX, Boulder, CO, and Denver, CO. The successful candidate will work on projects with the Power & Energy Team, focusing on utility, industrial, and commercial scale projects in the public and private sector.

The role involves providing technical assistance and guidance for multi-site/phase due diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, permitting, design, development, and construction of various projects. Responsibilities include:

- Determining methods for collecting, compiling, and analyzing data related to substation components and equipment specifications

- Reviewing and advising on third-party design documents, procurement lists, and project plans

- Performing complex electrical engineering work for design of substations, power distribution, and renewable energy systems

- Incorporating future-ready techniques and design requirements into projects

- Supporting senior engineers with research and recommendations

- Verifying site characteristics and providing technical input on engineering, design, testing, and construction procedures

- Developing electrical calculations and plans, specifications, and cost estimates

- Working as part of a cross-functional team to execute project work

- Preparing data and visualizations for presentations and reports

- Maintaining high-quality standards and responsiveness to client requirements

- Providing guidance and training to entry-level engineers

- Preparing technical reports and presentations

- Assisting in data analysis and interpretation

- Preparing and implementing site Health and Safety Plans

- Complying with regulatory requirements

- Interacting with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients

- Staying current with latest electrical engineering techniques and practices

- Exercising responsible and ethical decision-making

The ideal candidate will have:

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering

- 5-7 years of relevant post-education experience as an electrical engineer

- Engineer in Training Certification

- Experience with operations and project controls

- Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and design/build applications

- Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management

- Familiarity with relevant engineering and electrical construction laws, codes, and regulations

- Ability to make technical computations and calculations

- Project management experience

- Effective interpersonal and communication skills

- Self-leadership and attention to detail

- Proficiency with technical writing and design software

- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

- Ability to direct others and uphold workplace safety

Preferred qualifications include a Master's Degree in Engineering, essential professional licensure/certification, experience managing small to mid-size projects, 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training, and basic first aid and adult CPR training.
