## Description

As a Principal Risk Specialist in Capital One’s Financial Services Data Risk Office, you will be responsible for working with business partners to identify and mitigate potential data risks to Capital One.

**Responsibilities:**

- Develop a deep understanding of business strategies and data needs including data products and services;

- Identify and assess the impact of changing data policies on business objectives;

- Analyze data to proactively identify risks and trends and provide insights that support internal customers in decision-making;

- Provide guidance and advice to business partners on implementing data risk policies and programs;

- Drive collaboration between the data risk and other business support functions;

- Ensure independent escalation of data or other risk management gaps, issues, and concerns to executive management and business partners;

- Identify opportunities to improve data risk management practices and develop solutions to perfect it, eliminate waste, and enable the delivery of an exceptional customer experience;

- Drive containment and remediation of data breakdowns in conjunction with enterprise risk and business teams.

**Basic Qualifications:**

- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification;

- At least 3 years of experience in project, process, program, or risk management.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Bachelor's Degree;

- 2+ years of experience in presenting to senior leadership;

- Ability to analyze trends, determine root cause, and propose solutions.

**Salary Information:**

- Plano, TX: $109,900 - $125,400 for Principal Risk Specialist.
