## Description

We are seeking full-time and part-time Medical Receptionists to join our team at Attenborough Surgery, due to our continued increase in volume of calls and new patient registrations.

This role involves 95% phone work and a small amount of admin related to the calls taken. Shifts are available at our Holywell Branch, Carpenders Park Branch, and Bushey Medical Centre. Hours will be discussed at interview.

The ideal candidate will have:

- Call centre experience

- Ability to work set shifts and days according to Surgery requirements and a minimum of 3 half days

- A positive can-do attitude and good team working skills

- A background in General Practice Reception would be an advantage but is not essential

- Experience with EMIS would be an advantage but is not essential

Commitment to a full 2-week training programme will be required on acceptance of this role.

**Main duties of the job:**

- Greet and direct patients as they arrive for appointments

- Deal with telephone requests and enquiries

- Process repeat prescription requests

- Make appointments for practice patients with the appropriate Health Care professional

- Process requests for home visits

- Take and deliver messages

- Process non-NHS claim forms and private referral letters

- Collect fees for non-NHS work

- Update patient computer records as required

- Inform patients of the results of tests and investigations

- File manuscript information and maintain patients' medical records

- Test the clarity of telephone messages in accordance with Practice procedures

- Secure the practice premises and set the alarm at close of day in accordance with Practice procedures

- Receive specimens from patients and batch delivery to collection point

- Perform other one-off essential duties deemed necessary to ensure the smooth running of the Practice

## Skills

### Required
- GCSEs in Maths and English
- Customer Service experience
- Call centre experience
- General computer skills
