## Description

As a Senior Platform Engineer at Trainline, you will deliver complex improvements to our engineering platforms, building scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure that supports teams across the business.

You will implement and evolve infrastructure with Terraform, following existing module patterns while spotting opportunities to improve quality, maintainability, and automation.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Delivering complex improvements to Trainline's engineering platforms

- Implementing and evolving infrastructure with Terraform

- Applying least-privilege and secure-by-default principles consistently across our AWS accounts

- Building and improving automation, services, and tooling in Node.js or Python

- Supporting and reviewing the work of other engineers

- Working with Tech Leads, Delivery Managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to shape delivery plans

- Raising risks, blockers, and quality concerns early

- Testing, validating, and deploying infrastructure changes through CI/CD pipelines

We are looking for someone with substantial professional experience as a software engineer, writing code in Python, Node.js, C#, or a similar programming language.

Requirements include:

- Solid knowledge of software engineering best practice

- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, CloudFront, IAM, and S3

- History of delivering infrastructure with Terraform or another infrastructure as code tool

- Confident understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD

- Experience using AI tooling in your day-to-day work

- Experience of delivering results in agile, delivery-focused teams

- Curious mindset and the ability to pick up new technologies quickly
