## Description

Adyen is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the development of its Capital product, which enables businesses to conduct expense and payment transactions.

The Engineering Manager, Capital will be based in San Francisco and will lead the development of Adyen's Capital product, powering how businesses conduct business expenses and payment transactions.

### Responsibilities

- Drive the Roadmap: Develop and execute the technical roadmap for expanding the richness of Adyen's Issuing proposition globally, translating ambitious business goals into world-class technical reality.

- Technical Authority and Excellence: Act as a technical leader and domain expert for Issuing, challenging and driving technical design and solutions to ensure an exceptionally high technical bar.

- People & Performance: Coach, mentor, and build a high-performing team from the ground up, responsible for performance management, professional development, and maintaining a culture of rapid, top-notch execution.

- Execution & Ownership: Work closely with Product Managers to manage project goals and timelines while proactively addressing technical debt, and enforcing best engineering practices.

- Client & Product Focus: Maintain a strong product mindset, deeply understanding clients' needs, the financial service industry, and the broader market landscape.

### Requirements

- People Leadership: 3+ years of experience in people management, with a proven ability to build, retain, and constructively grow high-performance engineering teams.

- Technical Depth: High technical bar and in-depth knowledge of building and scaling a world-class, API-based financial service, with experience working with Java, Postgres, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, and Elastic.

- Execution Mindset: Strong execution skills, including effective communication, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking.

- Collaboration & Influence: Proven ability to lead complex projects involving multiple teams and external partners, demonstrating strong influencing and strategic thinking skills.

- Customer Care: Deeply cares about the customer experience and takes pride in delivering a delightful experience.

### Total Rewards & Compensation

The annual base salary range for this role is $250,000 - $293,000. The total compensation package includes equity (RSUs), 401(k), health, dental, vision, and more.

### In-office Expectations

This role is based in Adyen's San Francisco office. Adyen is an office-first company and expects employees to work in-office at least 3 days a week on average.
