## Description

The Operations department is the heart of Amazon, ensuring efficient order shipping to customers. As an Area Manager, you will oversee daily operations at your site, managing a team focused on safety, efficiency, and quality. You will also lead projects across our network to enhance productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

- Create, supervise, and promote a culture of safety and well-being

- Analyse and implement changes to maintain high-quality and productivity standards

- Oversee projects to streamline processes, optimise productivity, and improve service quality

- Analyse shifts according to company guidelines and implement measures to enhance operational excellence

- Collaborate with senior colleagues to standardise shift procedures

A Day in the Life: You work in shifts at one of our sites, focusing on maximising productivity. Your main tasks include leading and promoting a safety culture, maintaining quality and performance standards, and overseeing process improvements. A typical day can vary significantly and involves routine team management, daily operational tasks, process improvement initiatives, and extensive operational tasks for contingencies. You will also serve as a role model and mentor for new managers.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Engineering

- Fluency in German and English (C1 level or above)

- Experience leading large teams, with proven ability to hire, develop, and manage high-performing technical teams

- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis, or troubleshooting problems and offering solutions to complex challenges

- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with Six Sigma tools and Lean techniques

- Experience in a logistics or operations environment
