## Description

We are seeking an Assistant Chef to join our team at Abbotsleigh Mews Care Home in Sidcup. As an Assistant Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering an excellent dining experience for our residents.

The successful candidate will have a passion for cooking and previous experience working in a fresh food kitchen, along with relevant hygiene certificates. You will be responsible for creating varied and nutritional menus in line with dietary needs and preferences of our residents, training and managing the kitchen team, and adhering to COSHH and HACCP guidelines.

Our care home is a purpose-built facility providing nursing, residential, and dementia care. We offer a range of activities and services to support the independence and well-being of our residents.

The salary for this role is £13.89 to £15.40 per hour, depending on experience. This is a permanent, part-time position working 32 hours per week, including every Saturday and Sunday.

**Responsibilities:**

- Create varied and nutritional menus in line with dietary needs and preferences of our residents

- Train and manage the kitchen team in prepping, cooking, and serving of food

- Adhere to COSHH and HACCP guidelines, company policies and procedures, budgets, managing orders and deliveries

- Cater for special events or seasonal activities, such as summer fetes, Christmas parties, and birthdays

**Requirements:**

- Passion for cooking with previous experience working in a fresh food kitchen and relevant hygiene certificates

- Experience of working in elderly care is desirable
