## Description

WSP is currently seeking a Construction Inspection Specialist for our Philadelphia, PA office.

As a Construction Inspection Specialist, you will perform technical inspections of construction projects or materials testing work, focusing on project safety, project records control, reconstruction projects, or contractor cost payment. Your work will involve projects such as roadway overlays, widening, stabilization, earthwork, material placement, water supply, and drainage. You will interpret contract requirements through analysis of specifications and drawings, and apply various testing and inspection techniques. This role requires independent judgment in making technical decisions.

**Responsibilities:**

- Perform inspections of construction projects for compliance with contract requirements and department standards and specifications.

- Conduct quality assurance testing of materials, including obtaining and preparing material samples, and ensuring materials conform to contract requirements and department standards and specifications.

- Schedule and control test procedures for compaction control and random soils sampling programs.

- Conduct training for personnel associated with project construction to ensure compliance with project safety standards.

- Prepare project documentation, periodic cost estimates, and progress reports.

- Perform calculations to compute quantities of work performed and materials used.

- Compile construction data and records measurements using inspection equipment.

- Inspect and perform tests on aggregate, concrete, and bituminous products.

- Travel to field sites to perform inspections.

**Requirements:**

- Knowledge of construction inspection procedures and techniques.

- Knowledge of building construction procedures, techniques, and equipment.

- Knowledge of technical data collection and evaluation.

- Knowledge of construction materials testing procedures and techniques.

- Ability to read and interpret construction codes, plans, standards, and specifications.

- Ability to perform computations, cost estimates, and calculations.

- 3+ years of relevant experience.

- Effective oral and written communication skills.

- High School Diploma.
