## Description

We're looking for a Technical Expert - Gears and Splines to join our team at Ford Motor Company. As a Technical Expert, you will have global responsibilities leading Gear Design, Development and Release. This group is responsible for all automatic step ratio transmissions, hybrids as well as leading the gear design future for BEV Power Unit applications.

You will be responsible for designing parallel axis gearing as related to layshaft and planetary gear sets for automatic transmissions, E power units, and hybrid applications. You will also perform gear and spline hardware reviews and assessments throughout the development process, lead problem-solving investigations to resolve durability and NVH concerns, and optimize gear mesh losses while maintaining durability and NVH robustness.

Additionally, you will design and/or review and sign-off gear designs, macro and micro geometries utilizing a combination of in-house, Ohio State University and commercial programs (LDP, Romax, T3D). You will also sign-off responsibility for gear and spline components/assemblies at program milestones, author, review and approve all FMA documentation (DVP, Boundary, DFMEA, Design Rules etc.).

You will lead material testing to develop S/N curves for bending, pitting and tooth flank fatigue, mentor and train all things gearing and splines, collaborate with industry experts, work with manufacturing engineering on gear/spline design and process feasibility studies, and develop and implement new design process methodologies and analytical tools.

If you have a Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree and 8+ years of experience with gear and spline design and bringing those products to market, we encourage you to apply!
