## Description

This Software Architect role at Duo, part of Cisco, involves designing and shipping production SaaS systems with security and compliance constraints for enterprise and government customers.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building modern SaaS applications and be able to own architecture decisions that keep the platform scalable, operable, and secure.

Key responsibilities:

- Understand the existing software and production architecture of the service, identify gaps, and drive architectural improvements.

- Partner with Duo Engineering and product management to evolve the Duo IAM product.

- Design and evolve service, data, and delivery architecture with built-in security and compliance controls.

- Leverage AI for analysis and build tools to help engineering teams implement architectural and compliance requirements.

- Partner with Duo Engineering to produce application-level evidence for auditors.

Minimum qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree + 12 years of related experience, or Masters + 8 years of related experience, or PhD + 5 years of related experience.

- Experience in software development lifecycles, project management practices, microservice-based architecture, and building modern SaaS applications on AWS/GCP/Azure.

- Experience with existing software implementations, regulatory compliance architecture (FedRAMP, CRA, PQC), and translating compliance and security requirements into engineering roadmaps.

Preferred qualifications:

- Ability to exercise cross-functional influence across Security, Product, SRE, and engineering.

- Experience building IAM products, working in FIPS / FedRAMP environments, and Post Quantum Cryptography transition planning.

The starting salary range for this position is $177,600.00 to $257,400.00.
