## Description

WSP is seeking a Chief Construction Inspector to oversee construction of the Knowledge Rail Corridor Fiber Optic Improvement project in western Massachusetts.

The Chief Construction Inspector will be based in Worcester, MA, but will work full-time in the field at project offices in Springfield or Deerfield, MA.

Responsibilities:

- Communicate with client field representatives and rail operators

- Interface with contractors and attend meetings

- Supervise and train inspectors

- Complete daily reports and track progress

- Participate in safety meetings and monitor contractor compliance

- Take and compile photographs for tracking progress

- Exercise responsible decision-making and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct

Requirements:

- High school diploma

- 11+ years of experience with fiber optic cabling and communications systems testing

- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to read and interpret drawings and design plans

- Applied knowledge of working within an active freight railroad

- Valid driver's license

- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety

Preferred Qualifications:

- Associate of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management

- Proficiency with MS Office Suite

- Experience with construction management software

- Demonstrated supervisory skills

Compensation and Benefits:

- Expected rate: $56.06 - $82.50 hourly
