## Description

We are seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to develop, implement, and verify safety concepts in safety-critical projects. The successful candidate will perform risk assessments and safety analyses, ensuring compliance with applicable safety standards. Collaboration with system, software, and hardware teams is essential to verify safety functionalities and support Research and Development (R&D) activities.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Develop Item Definitions

- Conduct Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessments (HARA)

- Create Safety Concepts

- Perform safety analyses

- Develop test specifications

- Execute safety tests

- Participate in R&D activities related to safety

- Identify and proactively report project deviations

- Contribute to lesson learned activities and continuous improvement

- Provide technical support in preparing commercial offers and proposals

**Requirements:**

- Technical university degree with a specialisation in mechatronics, physics, software, electronics, or related fields

- Driving licence

- Certification as a Safety Engineer

- Basic High Voltage (HV) training

- Several years of proven experience in developing safety-critical projects from prototype to mass production

- In-depth knowledge of electrical/electronic development

- Strong understanding of System Engineering

- Familiarity with safety standards

- Knowledge of AVL's safety development processes, including execution of all technical safety activities within the V-Model

- Solid foundation in software engineering principles

- Mechanical engineering fundamentals

- Excellent English language skills

- Problem-solving and presentation skills

- Availability for business trips

**What We Offer:**
