## Description

We are seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join our team at American Honda Motor Company. As a Purchasing Specialist, you will be responsible for managing mass production part ordering and delivery to International Supply Chain for Export to international Honda production facilities through effective planning, communication, and supplier interface.

**Key Accountabilities:**

- Manage day-to-day orders and deliveries to ISC Consolidate Centers using process-related systems (GPCS, eDCIS, NARS).

- Investigate root causes of late orders, develop resolution and recovery plans with suppliers and ISC Production Control.

- Communicate effectively with Consolidation Center to meet packing requirements, disposition inventory, and investigate supplier issues.

- Establish and maintain communication networks with suppliers to promote positive relationships focused on delivery performance.

- Identify, evaluate, and escalate critical issues to management to ensure appropriate allocation of resources.

- Collaborate with department project leaders to support International Supply Chain Delivery projects.

- Understand and manage transition activity from New Model to Mass Production to minimize impact and cost.

- Strengthen business processes, streamline reporting, and enable effective PDCA cycles.

- Collaborate with other teams for development or improvement of characteristics.

- Develop capability of self and others through training, mentoring, and sharing experiences.

- Maintain reporting and Gemba activity for root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation.

**Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:**

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent relevant experience.

- 0-4 years of experience, depending on degree.

- Knowledge of supply chain and manufacturing flow.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong organization skills.

- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently with limited direction.

- Ability to troubleshoot complex problems in a team-based work environment.

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

**Working Conditions:**

- Overtime as needed.

- In-office 80% of the time.

- Some travel may be necessary.

- May be required to work weekends and/or adjusted hours during peak times.
