## Description

As a Senior Data Engineer at 3M, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with innovative and diverse people around the world. You will provide technical leadership for collecting business-critical product development data to improve the process. You will enable growth within the business group through new product development improvement using data and analytical techniques and collaborate with cross-divisional teams to define, develop, and deploy solutions in alignment with enterprise-wide standards and strategies.

Responsibilities:

- Provide technical leadership for collecting business-critical product development data

- Enable growth within the business group through new product development improvement using data and analytical techniques

- Collaborate with cross-divisional teams to define, develop, and deploy solutions

- Lead intellectual property creation and protection for innovative and groundbreaking solutions

- Modernize how product development data is captured, integrated, and used across the organization

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field

- Experience in data engineering, system integration, data architecture, or related technical roles

- Experience building data pipelines using tools such as SQL, Python, Spark, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Snowflake, or similar technologies

- Demonstrated experience integrating data across enterprise systems, APIs, databases, and cloud platforms

- Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, data quality, and data governance principles

- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud

- Experience supporting analytics, AI, or machine learning initiatives through structured data preparation and pipeline development

- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and translate business needs into technical solutions

- Advanced English

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, chemical, materials science, engineering, or product development environments

- Familiarity with systems such as PLM, LIMS, MES, ERP, CRM, QMS, or engineering data platforms

- Knowledge of AI/ML data requirements, feature engineering, vector databases, or knowledge graph concepts

- Experience with master data management, metadata management, and data cataloging tools

- Understanding of product development lifecycle processes, stage-gate models, experimentation, testing, and commercialization workflows

- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Work Location:

- This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M plant in Sumaré

- Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
