**Job Summary:** The Target Security Specialist role provides an opportunity to develop skills in crisis response, safety and crowd management, de-escalation, and physical security controls. You will use intelligence-led tactics to prevent and resolve theft and fraud, and maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and team members.

**Responsibilities:**

- Deliver an exceptional guest experience by greeting guests, helping them find what they need, and resolving issues promptly

- Promote a physical security culture by assessing and maintaining safe and secure standards throughout the store

- Respond to and document security incidents in a timely and accurate manner

- Leverage de-escalation tactics and resources to manage security incidents

- Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support as needed

- Prevent theft and shortage at the front of store by performing merchandise receipt checks

- Submit documentation in the case management system for all incidents

- Understand and use Target's video surveillance system

- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance

- Work in a safe manner and comply with all safety policies and training

**Requirements:**

- Must be at least 18 years of age or older

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position

- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members

- Ability to communicate effectively and operate technology equipment

- Effective communication skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Manage workload and prioritise tasks independently

- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment

**Physical Demands:**

- Climb up and down ladders

- Apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy

- Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely

- Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

- Capable of working in varying temperatures and humidity levels
