## Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer III, Backend to join our Internal Tools team. Our team owns the design and implementation of our next-generation internal tools platform , a new advertiser management platform that unifies several legacy systems under a single, modern foundation, with a focus on high-performance middleware and backend services.

You will play a central role in building this platform from the ground up: designing APIs and services, shaping the data model, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions.

Responsibilities:

- Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend systems

- Develop APIs, microservices, and other server-side components that power platform features and functionality

- Contribute to the architecture and design of backend systems

- Ensure solutions are reliable, scalable, and performant, and make informed decisions on technology choices and system design

- Design and optimize relational database schemas and queries that serve as the system of record for the platform

- Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to define and implement new features and improvements

- Identify and troubleshoot complex technical issues, provide effective solutions, and optimize system performance

- Maintain high standards for code quality, including thorough testing, code reviews, and documentation

- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, and evaluate and recommend new tools, frameworks, and libraries

Requirements:

- 10+ years of professional experience in backend development

- Proficiency in Java, with experience in Python, Node.js, or Go

- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot

- Solid knowledge of RESTful API design, best practices, and implementation

- Strong expertise in relational databases, including schema design, query optimization, and reasoning about data integrity and consistency

- Experience with NoSQL databases or analytical warehouses

- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and system design principles

- Practical, hands-on experience using AI coding tools

- Experience working in Agile development environments
