## Description

We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our team at Millennium, a global alternative investment firm. As a Data Engineer, you will work closely with quants, portfolio managers, risk managers, and other engineers to develop data-intensive and multi-asset analytics for our Fixed Income, Risk, and Commodities businesses.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and user feedback

- Provide expertise on various database platforms, including data model reviews and query performance tuning

- Define and enforce database standards and best practices

- Review and upgrade database maintenance processes and monitoring capabilities

- Work with DevOps engineers to build AI-powered tools and automation for data pipelines and system monitoring

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new database platforms

Requirements:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field

- 2+ years of experience in data/database engineering or a related role

- Strong experience with SQL and relational database technologies, including Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL

- Experience with cloud data platforms and services in AWS and/or GCP

- Familiarity with data modeling, data quality, and data governance practices

- Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments with scripting or programming languages such as Python or Java
