## Description

Leidos Defense is seeking a talented Software Engineer to develop high-performance applications and backend systems supporting advanced sensors and mission systems.

The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining C++-based applications and backend systems. The engineer will build software supporting data processing, visualization, and system control, and analyze and improve performance, latency, and scalability of software systems.

Key responsibilities include:

- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including software, systems, and hardware engineers

- Supporting integration, testing, and deployment of software in operational environments

- Contributing to evolving system capabilities, including future real-time and high-throughput processing components

- Contributing to systems and features end-to-end, from development through deployment and improvement

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science from an ABET-accredited school, with 4+ years of experience in software development.

Required skills include:

- Proficiency in modern C++

- Experience with Linux-based systems

- Experience with higher-level user application development

- Experience working in performance-sensitive, distributed, or systems-oriented applications

- Experience with multithreaded or concurrent programming

Preferred qualifications include experience with messaging frameworks, GPU Computing, containerization and CI/CD pipelines, radar, RF, or sensor systems, Python, and SQL-based databases.

The pay range for this role is $87,100.00 - $157,450.00.
