## Description

Mastercard is looking for a talented Lead Software Development Engineer to join the Mastercard Foundry Research and Development team in Pune. In this role, you will be part of a highly agile team building exciting and innovative products delivered at scale to global markets.

Responsibilities:

- Work with a team of talented developers to develop high-performance Java-based solutions.

- Analyze, design, and develop software solutions.

- Contribute to requirements for new applications and customizations, adhering to standards, processes, and best practices.

- Ensure quality of one or more application codebases and alignment with development standards.

- Coach and develop junior employees.

- Design highly complex applications, interfaces, and integrations.

- Integrate at an enterprise level using third-party middleware or messaging products.

- Perform performance engineering of the enterprise software architecture.

- Provide functional guidance, advice, and training to other application developers.

- Handle software development, code reviews, and day-to-day support duties.

- Participate in group-wide and external public speaking and other communications conveying domain-level directions.

- Research and evaluate tools to support domain-specific needs.

Requirements:

- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and Codex.

- Ability to configure reusable AI workflows.

- Knowledge of agentic workflows, including multi-agent orchestration and responsible AI practices.

- Experience integrating AI workflows into Git-based development and CI/CD pipelines.

- Proficiency with Java JDK 17 or greater.

- Knowledge of Tomcat, Spring, Spring Boot, Shell Scripting, JSON.

- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration solutions.

- Expertise in JUnit or other automated unit testing frameworks.

- Knowledge of CI/CD principles and tools such as Jenkins, Gradle, Maven.

- Experience with a UI framework such as Angular is a plus.
