## Description

Backcountry, a leading online retailer of outdoor gear, is seeking a skilled Retail Shop Technician to join their team in Bozeman, Montana. As a Retail Shop Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products are maintained, repaired, and assembled according to the company's standards. Your primary objective will be to provide high-quality customer service by assisting with product inquiries and providing technical support, and selling merchandising to customers.

### Responsibilities:

- Assemble, maintain, and repair outdoor gear and equipment, including bicycles, ski & snowboard equipment, watercraft, camping gear, and other outdoor equipment.

- Perform quality assurance checks on all products prior to customer delivery.

- Provide product information, advice, and recommendations to customers.

- Support sales associates with product knowledge and recommendations.

- Maintain the shop's organization and inventory of necessary tools and supplies.

- Collaborate with the team to meet sales goals and provide exceptional customer service.

- Develop and maintain knowledge of products, industry trends, and competitors.

- Greet and assist customers with their purchases.

- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.

- Maintain a clean and organized store environment.

- Manage inventory levels and restock merchandise.

- Participate in company-wide promotions and marketing campaigns.

- Strive to improve customer satisfaction and exceed sales targets.

### Requirements:

- 1+ years of experience in a retail shop technician or similar role.

- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills with outdoor gear and equipment.

- Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers.

- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.

- Knowledge of the latest industry trends and products.

- Flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Technical certifications related to outdoor gear and equipment preferred.

### Physical Requirements:

- Communicate verbally and work cooperatively with associates and customers.

- Remain standing for up to 5 hours at a time.

- Move about the store coaching and directing associates, selling to customers, and retrieving merchandise.

- Grab, reach, push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch to retrieve and replenish merchandise.

- Lift and/or move merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.

- Ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and/or move merchandise.

- Operate a computer, POS system, keyboards, merchandise scanners, and mouse.

- Flexible schedule, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.

- Regular and predictable attendance.

### Compensation:

- $21 - $21.50 an hour.
