## Description

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist. As a Senior Consultant Specialist, you will collaborate with stakeholders across business, architects, leadership team, service line heads to deliver sharable engineering artifacts.

Principal responsibilities:

- Collaborate with stakeholders across business, architects, leadership team, service line heads to deliver sharable engineering artifacts.

- Work with Tech PO and Tech lead to shape the scope and convert it to tangible items.

- Collaborate with central teams (architecture, security, engineering, networks) who are responsible for delivering HSBC baseline cloud architecture.

- Collaborate with service lines to co-design and set up common standards and practice, to avoid duplicated technical artifacts.

- Ensure DevSecOps capabilities are built in as part of the solution.

- Ensure solution aligns with FSA.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in full-stack, cloud-native software engineering.

- Google Cloud Platform (preferred) or AWS certification.

- Strong Java experience, including Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.

- Microservices and API-first design and development, including end-to-end service design, deployment, and operations.

- API gateway experience (e.g., Zuul or equivalent).

- Containerisation and orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes.

- Experience with cloud services such as storage and serverless functions (e.g., Cloud Functions or equivalent).

- Service mesh experience.

- Security/IAM experience, including roles/entitlements and service accounts; familiarity with AD/AD LDS.

- Strong database skills across SQL and NoSQL; ability to perform data analysis (dbt preferred).

- CI/CD pipeline implementation and maintenance.

- DevSecOps principles and automation using Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible, and GitHub.

- Event-driven architecture and data streaming experience (e.g., Pub/Sub, Kafka/Confluent, Dataproc or equivalent).

- Service observability (logging, monitoring, tracing) experience.

- Caching implementation experience.

- Hands-on UI development experience (React.js preferred).

- Understanding of LLMs and hands-on experience building AI applications and/or AI agents.

- Agile delivery experience and tools (Scrum/Kanban, Jira, Confluence).

- Strong problem-solving skills; able to work independently under pressure.

- Strong written and spoken English; able to explain complex ideas clearly.

- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.

- Experience in Banking and Financial Services with good understanding of the legal and compliance business.

- Good communication (verbal & written) skillset to explain complex ideas.

- Ability to work in a multicultural environment;

- Keen to learn and keen to mentor.

- Experience in delivering complex solutions at large organisations of varying size and complexity.

- Experience working in a global environment.
