## Description

We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer - Network Automation to join our Operational Support Systems (OSS) Platform Engineering team at Barclays. You will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining the underlying OSS infrastructure and toolchain across cloud and on-prem platforms.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Develop and maintain high-quality infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements, focusing on reliability, performance, and scalability.

- Monitor IT infrastructure and system performance to identify and resolve potential issues, vulnerabilities, or outages.

- Develop and implement automated tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

- Implement secure configurations and measures to protect infrastructure against cyber-attacks, vulnerabilities, and other security threats.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, architects, and engineers, to define IT infrastructure requirements and devise solutions.

- Stay updated on industry technology trends and innovations, contributing to the organisation's technology communities.

**Requirements:**

- Hands-on expertise with IaC, Cloud Platforms, CI/CD Pipelines, Containerization & Orchestration, and SRE principles.

- Strong knowledge of Python, OOP/Design Patterns, Backend Development, Microservices, and FastAPI.

- Experience with Networking, including Routing & Switching, Network Security, and Data Centre Technologies.

- Expert knowledge of Cloud Networking (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Hybrid cloud connectivity.

**Nice to Have:**

- Experience working in Network and infrastructure operational product engineering.

- Knowledge of network element management plane, control plane, data plane, and fast switching.

- Familiarity with Agile Methodologies, Scrum/Kanban, and SRE-specific reporting.
