The Online Software Engineer will help build networked game experiences for EA Sports titles. We are looking for engineers who enjoy prototyping, planning, implementing, and maintaining amazing new features and technology for the biggest sports video game franchise in the world, EA SPORTS FC. This role is ideal for an experienced C++ engineer who enjoys solving challenging real-time systems problems, mentoring engineers, and leading technical execution without being the primary architect for the organization. - Create and maintain client code to support features and improve multiplayer experiences.

- Optimize client and server online systems to improve latency, reliability, scalability, performance, and memory.

- Design and iterate on architecture and infrastructure improvements for live systems and workflows.

- Work closely with partner teams to stand up and maintain online infrastructure and services for the title.

- Own experiences through the full stack, from UI in the game client all the way to the backend services and databases that power those experiences.

Qualifications:

- 6+ years of experience in software development with strong proficiency in developing high-performance C++ applications.

- Experience developing and debugging multi-threaded/concurrent architectures.

- Experience with networked applications or features (client/server and/or peer-to-peer).

- Familiarity with database technologies (e.g. MySQL, SQL, Redis).

- Knowledge of networking protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP).

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent training and professional experience.

Bonus:

- Professional experience developing AAA video games.

- Experience shipping and supporting multiplayer or live service products.

- Experience working with modern game engines such as Frostbite, Unreal Engine, Unity, or proprietary engines.

- Experience working with Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo gaming platforms.

- Experience with dedicated servers, matchmaking systems, telemetry, and online platform services.

- Experience using Perforce, Git, or similar version control systems.
