## Description

Reddit is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join the Media Foundation team, responsible for delivering seamless, high-performance media experiences across all platforms. As a Senior Android Engineer, you will build novel media products and features, work cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering teams, and contribute to the full development cycle.

Responsibilities:

- Build novel media products and features that our millions of users will love.

- Work cross-functionally, collaborate and partner with product, design, and other engineering counterparts to execute on product and business strategy.

- Contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch.

- Participate with a team of thoughtful, fast-moving, and motivated engineers.

- Continuously learn and improve your technical and non-technical abilities.

Qualifications:

- Expertise in Kotlin with 5+ years of experience within Android development.

- Deep understanding of Android SDK, Lifecycle, System components, Jetpack Compose, animations, MVVM/MVI, Clean architecture & Unit/UI Testing, Multithreading.

- Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule.

- Excellent communication skills.

Nice To Have:

- Additional knowledge around GraphQL, REST, HTTP basics, and the ability to design maintainable APIs.

- Knowledge of ExoPlayer for video and audio playback, asset management, streaming, editing, and exporting capabilities.

- A proven track record of using data and performance metrics to relentlessly optimize apps.
