As a Senior Business Analyst at Capital One, you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges.

The Senior Business Analyst, Deal Economics & Analytics role is within Capital One's Global Payment Networks' (GPN) Global Acceptance organisation.

GPN oversees all operations across the Discover®, PULSE®, and Diners Club International® Networks.

The Global Acceptance team defines and shapes GPN's strategic agenda by expanding acceptance across priority markets, owning and expanding strategic relationships with global acquirers, merchants, and payment service providers, and driving local issuance partnerships around the globe.

In this role, you will sit within the Global Deals team, which orchestrates and drives deal analytics, pricing, and negotiations across strategic network relationships.

You'll operate in tight, deal-specific pods that reconstitute around live negotiations and work with key internal and external stakeholders to drive problem solving and alignment.

Success in this role depends on being strategically minded, quantitatively rigorous, and able to concisely communicate holistic, cross-functional information in a coherent package.

You'll be trusted to move fast and land outcomes, not just produce analysis.

Ideal candidates will have payments experience either in industry, top-tier consulting firms (in pricing or private equity practice), or investment banks.

**General Responsibilities:**

- Help build strategies supporting the GPN leadership team with their top priorities and influencing the development of new and existing platforms, as well as breakthrough technology and concepts

- Identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement and solve for them using analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendations

- Work closely with colleagues across Capital One including Pricing, Corporate Development, Sales, and others to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitability

- Demonstrate a proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics

- Display strong business judgment, leadership, and integrity

- Possess strong communication skills, including strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal, and negotiation skills

- Display an intense focus on achieving both short and long-term goals

**Basic Qualifications:**

- At least 2 years of professional experience performing analysis

- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:

- A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer engineering, Software engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)

- A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Master's Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering

- 1+ years of experience in Statistical model building

- 1+ years of experience in market research

- 1+ years of experience in SQL querying

- 2+ years of experience in business analysis

- 1+ years of experience in consulting

**Salary Information:**

- Chicago, IL: $101,100 - $115,400 for Sr. Business Analyst

- McLean, VA: $111,200 - $126,900 for Sr. Business Analyst

- New York, NY: $121,300 - $138,400 for Sr. Business Analyst
