## Description

We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join our team. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our laboratory operations.

**Essential Functions**

- Receive and process consignments and shipments

- Open shipments and conduct quality checks on patient information forms, escalating any issues to senior staff

- Ensure proper disposal and recycling of shipping supplies

- Conduct secondary checks on shipping materials to ensure specimens are not left behind

- Ship samples for long-term storage or client disposition

- Handle receipt of compounds and control materials as needed

- Respond to after-hour alarms and perform other critical functions

- Assist with equipment maintenance and supply inventory management

- Perform administrative duties as required

- Maintain a organised work area as requested by management

- Follow safety procedures and participate in continuing education

**Qualifications**

- High School Diploma or equivalent required

- Basic computer skills required

- Ability to maintain effective reporting procedures and control workflow

- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients
