## Description

We are seeking a Large Loss Motor Claims Handler to work within KGM's large loss motor team, handling high-value RTA claims.

The successful candidate will manage a caseload of complex personal injury claims, assessing indemnity, liability, and quantum, and controlling claim costs through effective negotiation.

Key responsibilities include:

- Managing a caseload of complex personal injury claims in accordance with claims handling procedures and service levels

- Assessing indemnity, liability, and quantum on claims, ensuring thorough investigation and due regard for individual case circumstances

- Controlling claim costs through effective negotiation and achieving economical settlements

- Maintaining accurate reserves, file discipline, and an effective diary system

- Attending trials and conferences with Counsel where necessary

- Adhering to Reinsurers and Large Loss procedures, and ensuring regulatory compliance

- Proactively managing personal training and development requirements

- Building strong working relationships with suppliers

- Maintaining technical knowledge and staying up-to-date with market and legal updates

Requirements:

- Strong working knowledge of personal injury claims, particularly serious injury, traumatic brain injury, serious spinal injuries, and amputation

- Technical knowledge of Discount Rate, extensive care claims, and other heads of claim applying to serious/catastrophic injury claims

- Good knowledge of medical disciplines required in investigating personal injury claims

- Sound knowledge of company products and policy wordings

- Solid understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and the Personal Injury Portal process

- Knowledge of current, relevant Case Law

- Good market knowledge and commercial awareness

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills

- Exemplary planning and organisational skills

- Ability to manage and prioritise own workloads, and work flexibly in a proactive claims environment
