## Description

Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join Brookfield Centre, a locked rehabilitation unit for patients with Learning Disability with or without Autism.

The post holder will work 32 hours per week at Brookfield Centre and 8 hours per week at Sutton End community residential placement in Maidstone.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team on Brookfield Centre and providing care and treatment to 13 inpatients, including restricted and non-restricted patients. You will also oversee the care and treatment of 5 patients at Sutton End.

Key responsibilities include:

- Acting as Responsible Clinician within a multidisciplinary team

- Participating in assessments of new referrals, pre-admission planning, management of inpatients, and discharge planning

- Liaising with other agencies, including the Ministry of Justice, police, probation, social care, and other mental health services

- Managing, appraising, and giving professional supervision to Resident doctors

- Undertaking administrative duties associated with patient care

- Participating in annual job plan review and appraisal for Consultants

- Attending and participating in the academic programme of the Trust

The post requires:

- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification

- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise

- Specialist Register or within six months

- Approved Clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months

- S12 approval or able to achieve within 3 months

- Valid UK driving licence

The salary range is £113,565 to £150,569 per year.
