## Description

Ford's Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) team is seeking a Sr. Electrical System Validation Engineer to contribute to the validation of Low Voltage systems and ensure its reliable performance.

The successful candidate will lead system-level design and validation activities, working closely with cross-functional teams to support product design, vehicle behaviors definition, prototype bring-up, and validation with a system-level focus.

Key responsibilities include:

- Performing bench-level and vehicle-level electrical system testing and validation

- Conducting Worst Case Circuit Analysis on power electronics converters and electrical systems

- Reviewing schematics and layouts for Low-voltage ECUs, body controllers, and zonal modules

- Proposing electrical circuit/system design changes to improve electrical system performance

- Performing electrical system fault testing and validating system protection strategies

- Developing test plans to validate system performance in low-voltage electrical systems

- Gaining deep technical knowledge of existing low-voltage system architecture and proposing strategies to enhance system reliability and stability

- Working with component suppliers to characterize loads in a low-voltage system

- Determining safe operating voltage range and other relevant constraints for electrical system loads

- Playing an active role in low-voltage system failure root cause analysis

- Supporting low-voltage system requirement definition

- Ensuring reliability of low-voltage system by proposing proper load management strategies

- Performing trade studies to realize efficient system design strategies and optimize for cost

The ideal candidate will have:

- A B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience

- 5+ years of combined electrical HW design and low-voltage system validation experience

- 3+ years of experience with performing WCCA analysis

- Power Electronics HW development experience, including schematic and layout design, board bring-up, and bench testing

- Deep technical knowledge of power converter topologies, including isolated and non-isolated

- Extensive hands-on experience in power electronics and electrical system testing

- Experience and working knowledge of systems development and electric vehicle's electrical architecture

- Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and ability to apply them to automotive concepts

- Proven debugging and diagnostic skills in electrical, mechanical, and software domains

- Experience with designing test plans to validate automotive low-voltage systems

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment

Preferred qualifications include:

- Master's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or related fields

- 10+ years of combined electrical HW design and low-voltage system validation experience

- 5+ years of WCCA experience

- Strong knowledge of power electronics system design

- Experience with advanced problem-solving tools

The salary range for this position is $138,800-$232,700.
