## Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Mobile Engineer 4 to join our team at Capital One. As a Mobile Engineer, you will be at the forefront of driving a major transformation across the enterprise, focusing on building and pioneering in the technology space.

You will partner with software engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-performing, quality features for over 100 million customers. You will provide technical leadership for mobile architecture and design patterns, act as a multiplier for your team's impact, mentor other engineers, and foster their growth through thoughtful feedback, code reviews, and sharing of platform-specific best practices.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Partnering with software engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-performing, quality features

- Providing technical leadership for mobile architecture and design patterns

- Mentoring other engineers and fostering their growth

- Growing and providing subject matter expertise in key platform areas

- Contributing to mobile architecture decisions, API design reviews, and reusable component development

- Leading the design and development of client Backend-for-Frontends (BFFs) and Server-Driven UI (SDUI) architectures

- Implementing and refining well-managed engineering practices

- Championing the adoption of agentic AI tools and mentoring engineers in AI-native development practices

- Applying mastery of the modern mobile ecosystem to make complex, high-leverage, hands-on technical contributions

- Driving a culture of quality, performance, accessibility, and customer empathy

The basic qualifications for this role include:

- A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field

- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience

- At least 3 years of experience building native mobile applications for Android (Kotlin) or iOS (Swift)

Preferred qualifications include:

- Proven experience building native mobile applications for Android (Kotlin) or iOS (Swift)

- Demonstrated experience with modern native UI frameworks

- Experience with performance tuning and optimization on native mobile platforms

- Experience designing scalable mobile architectures and reusable component libraries

- Experience implementing and maintaining comprehensive automated testing

- Familiarity with on-device ML frameworks

In terms of compensation, the minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are:

- McLean, VA: $197,300 - $225,100

- Wilmington, DE: $179,400 - $204,700

This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
